Lost Gardens of Heligan by Michelle Yeois Michelle's last fabric collection for Henry Glass Fabrics. The focal print of this collection is a stunning pillar print. Pillar Prints are motifs which echo the classical architecture of ancient Greece and Rome, with stripes assuming the form of fluted columns interrupted by ornate capitals and garlands of flowers. It has been more than ten years since a pillar print has been available and this exceptional offering, in two colorways, teal and caramel, is one that you don't want to miss out on. The teal is evocative of an 1830s chintz coloration that was extremely popular at the time. Shop this and all of Michelle's remaining fabrics while you can! The tea-ground or caramel was seen in 1815. When originally printed, some of the colors were printed thru copper cylinders, while others were added by overprinting with blocks or with hand painting. Lost Gardens of Heligan by Michelle Yeowas created to celebrate her wonderful friendship with Ingrid. A few years ago, Michelle met Ingrid at a sewing group and they bonded over their shared passion for quilting, especially early 19th-century antique quilts. Ingrid’s family name, on her father’s side, is St Austell-Moyle. After googling her family name, they stumbled upon the Lost Gardens of Heligan. This collection is a tribute to their friendship and Ingrid’s generosity in allowing Michelle to reproduce some of her antique prints.
